Creative Liberty

Good writers need no longer be constrained by a literary establishment. In an age where ‘everything is political’ the internet allows a diverse range of quality fiction to reach readers as soon as it leaves the final edit, while mainstream publication is increasingly tied to the demands of popular ideology and identity politics.

As a writer, I want to create a space where this can happen. Here, creativity is a meritocracy, where we care about the quality of writers’ fiction, and not the fashionableness of their opinions or superficial identity characteristics.

For the time being, Creative Liberty primarily hosts the weekly writings and recordings of myself (John Wheatley) and a small circle of trusted contributors.

Stay up-to-date

Every new article and story goes directly to your inbox.

Currently we publish one article per week, at Tuesday, 6pm (British Time).

Additional articles of less polished, more spontaneous material are uploaded for paying subscribers on an irregular basis (The ‘Fresh Off The Drawing Board’ series). There’s some good stuff here, and more musical experimentation than the usual article recordings.

Join the crew

In the long run, we’re building a community of people who are interested in creating. You can contribute to the project by subscribing, but also by liking, commenting, and sharing: quality feedback is just as valuable a contribution as quality writing.
